IGNORANCE OF LIFE

According to Oxford Advanced Learners’ Dictionary “Ignorance” means lack of experience or knowledge. In other words, “the state of being uninformed”. Absolute!  

It has been discovered that human being are ignorant from birth. It is only as we go through life and learn about the world around us that we overcome the ignorance. 

“It is bad enough that people are dying of AIDS, but no one should die of IGNORANCE”. (Elizabeth Taylor). Apostle peter also said.

“And now, brethren, I wot that through IGNORANCE ye did it, as did also your rulers”. (Act 3:17).

                 However, ignorance itself is not a sin. But, ignorance of God and His commandment quite often result in sin. Meanwhile, the greatest ignorance of life is when we ignored God’s commandments. Moreover, all of mankind has sinned in ignorance. We have all done something that we didn’t realize was a sin until later. Absolute! Besides, Apostle Paul the most famous in the New Testament who wrote many books has once killed faithful followers of Jesus, persecuted the church and beaten the people called by God. However, God by His mercy called him out of his ignorance, shaping him into one of the most zealous Christian the world has ever seen. Our God is faithful!

            Moreover, a better way to overcome ignorance is to seek the right knowledge. What is knowledge? Knowledge is the information gained from study or experience.  But, the easiest way to receive knowledge is to study (Spiritual, Moral). The bible says.

“… I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem”.  (Daniel 9:2).

However, the slight difference between “knowledge, understanding and wisdom”. “Knowledge” is what we know or what we have in our memory” Understanding” is the deeper level of seeing how the knowledge fits together and how it can be used while ‘Wisdom” is the ability to take the knowledge and understanding and apply it. Very Simple! (Ignorance- Knowledge-Understanding- Wisdom ).

Moreover, the most important knowledge on the face of the earth is the knowledge of God and His commandments. How can we get the knowledge of God?  Virtually, by “Studying” the bible like the Bereans Christian did. Read. (Act 17:10-11). “Meditation” Read (Joshua 1:8) and “Prayers”. Read. (1Thessalonians5:17). Absolute!

Result of ignorance

Ø  We become sinners. Read (Psalm 14:4).

Ø  We can be destroyed by our ignorance. Read (Hosea 4:6).

From the above submission, it is clearly stated that “Only those who work with God reach their destinations. Our prayer is that, may God enlighten the eyes of our understanding in Jesus Name? Amen! UNDERSTANDING FAILURE !!!

According to Advanced Oxford Learners Dictionary “Failure” means to fall short success or achievement in something expected, attempted, desired, or approved. Absolute!

Failure is one of those disheartening realities of life. I have never met anyone who purposely set out to be a failure. Meanwhile, failure is inevitable! Why? Nobody will tell me that right from his birth; he has never failed or makes a mistake in life. There is none! In fact, discovery make us to understand that before a child master walking, he/she has fall down many times! Absolute .The bible says.

“ Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand”. (Psalm 37:24).  

 However, there is no secret to success. It is the result of our preparation, hard work, and learning from our failure. Nevertheless, Failure encountered in life brings us success if we learn from it. Moreover, God may not prevent us from falling, but he will never deny us of rising. The bible says.   

“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief”. (Proverb 24:16).

            Moreover, majority has confused a single defeat with a final defeat. What a tragedy! “Theodore Roosevelt “said “The only man who never makes a mistake is the man who never does anything”. In actual sense, it is important to accept that we would all make mistakes. But, the key is that have we learned any positive lesson from the mistakes.

Examine the likes of great men in the bible-“ Abraham, Elijah, David and Peter” they all experienced failure at one point or the other but they recover from their failure and use it as a tool to grow. Besides, they learned from it and they did great exploit for God in return. Using apostle peter as a case study he denied Christ thrice. But, he recovers from his failure and right from the day of Pentecost he did great exploit for God. What a great repentance!  The word of God says

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39).

Moreover, what are we saying! Do not be embarrassed by failures in any aspect of life. But, learn from them and start again! Meanwhile, this time more intelligently. Besides, failure is the ingredient that gives success its flavor. Absolute!

Examine the likes of great men in the world-“Thomas Edison “discovered the electric light bulb after which he failed 999 times before arriving at the answer! What a great courage!

Examine the likes of “Abraham Lincoln” – if we want to learn about somebody who did not quit despite the tough times he faced in life, the story of Abraham Lincoln is a must read. Born into poverty in 1809, he was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight elections, failed twice in business and suffered a nervous breakdown. He could have quit many times but he did not and because of that he became one of the greatest presidents in the history of America. What a great focus!

In addition, when we successfully battle tough times and overcome, we become more experienced in life and we will have success story to tell people. Many other people will benefit from our wealth of experience. Remember, no cross, no crown. No sweat, no sweet. Roses are beautiful but they are not without thorns. Quitters don’t win and winners don’t quit. Beloved, do not be afraid of failures and disappointments.  Believe strongly in your heart that you can bounce back and succeed. The bible says.

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.  (Micah 7:8).

I see us rising again out of the mud of our difficulties, failures and disappointment. The one who made heavens and earth will set our feet upon the rock to stand, in Jesus Name?
