Our God is a God of
purpose, in all his works and doings. He does not do anything without a
particular purpose in mind. “ The lord of host hath sworn, saying, surely
as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as i have purposed, so shall
it stand”.( Isaiah 14:24).God
created sex to fulfill a particular purpose in mind. The word of God says.” Since
everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it. We may receive
it gladly, with thankful hearts. (1Timothy 4:4 NLT). Sex is a loving
and wonderful gift from God. Sexual appetites are not part of the fall of
humanity. They are not part of our sinful nature. They are important part of
the created package. “And the lord God said, it is not good that
the man should be alone, I will make him an help meet for him”. (Genesis
2:18).
Besides, Sex originates from the creation period, when God saw that it is
not good for Adam to be alone, he created woman. This woman was to be Adam’s
companion and helper. It is only after Adam was joined to Eve that God
determines that humanity’s creation is complete and good.
However, we live in a world that
loves sex without any proper understanding of God design for it. Moreover, it
has been discovered that many fell into sexual sin very early in life. Why?
They keep giving countless excuses that their biological parent has never seated
them down at early stage of life to open their understanding about sex. So,
they fell into victim. Is that true? Even some so called pastors are too
spiritual to enlighten their covenant members about sex. What a tragedy!
Meanwhile, majority has also denied their own personality by asking themselves “CAN
SEX KILL” before taking an ignorance step into it. Nevertheless, some are
even enlightened by wayward friends. What a tragedy! The bible explains.
“Don’t you realize that your bodies are
actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which belongs to
Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never! And don’t you know that a man joins
himself to a prostitute; he becomes one body with her? For the two are united into one”. But the person who is joined to the
lord becomes one spirit with him. Run away from sexual sin! No other sin so
clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin
against your own body. Or don’t you know that your body is the temple of the
Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to
yourself. For God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your
body”. (1Corinthians 6:15-20
NLT).
According
to research the average age of the first sexual encounter is sixteen while some are even earlier. It
is saddening to say majority learn about sex through worldly hip-hop show and
hearing while some are enlighten through wayward friends. The bible says. Be
not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners”. (1 Corinthians
15:33).
Moreover,
many young boys and girls find it exciting messing up their destiny with girls
and boys because of an uncontrolled desire for sex without any proper
understanding of its genesis. Meanwhile, majority has forgotten that there is
nothing like casual sex!
The bible
explains. “ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave
unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man
and his wife, and were not ashamed”. (Genesis 2:24). Besides, many thought
their beauty is for trading! They have forgotten that God gives and he can
collect anytime he wishes, if not properly utilized. The bible says.
“ Abstain
from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly and
I pray God your whole SPIRIT and SOUL and BODY be preserved blameless unto the
coming of our lord Jesus Christ”. (1Thessalonians 5:23).
Observation
has also been made on secular idea of having sex. Some suggest- it relieves loneliness, boredom, anger and stress. Engaging in sex even helps
physical problems like headaches,
menstrual cramps and the likes. Could this be true? Many unmarried youth
even pronounce the language “I can never
buy a car without a test- drive! Meanwhile, the bible warns.”
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
(Proverb 4:23). The bible defines “SIN”
as the transgression of the law.
(1John3:4). Sin is not fun! Satan was the originator of sin. He is the spirit
in charge of sexual sin. Which we must resist! The only way to enjoy God
created package (sex) is to obey God’s standard regarding it. May God enlighten
the eyes of our understanding in Jesus name! Amen.
From the above
submission, it is clearly stated that “everything God created is good”
including SEX, but all are to be
enjoyed within the covenant of marriage. The writer to the Hebrew encourages “ Marriage
is honorable in all and the bed undefiled: but whore mongers and adulterers God
will judge”. If you are reading this article and you know you have
misuse the unique gift of sex. Jesus still loves you. First of all give your
life to Jesus and you shall be healed. Say with me, Dear heavenly father, I
come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says”… him that cometh to me I will in
no wise cast out”. (John 6:37). I know you won’t cast me out, but take
me in. and I thank you for it. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the
son of God; I believe that he was raised from the dead for my justification.
